Amazing technology for a better night's sleep

When I was offered the opportunity to try this device I jumped on it after reading the brief description on the product page. I didn't choose it just because it's a sleep aid, although that is certainly a great benefit, but I chose it because I saw "near infrared" and "40hz gamma." About a year ago I discovered red light therapy and it has turned me into a bit of a nerd for these kinds of technology proven to have therapeutic benefits for the human body. While this is being marketed as a sleep aid device, it's really so much more. If you aren't familiar with the studies done on 40hz gamma frequency, it's actually been proven to boost cognitive function and memory retention. It's also being used as a therapy for relief and prevention of symptoms in those with Alzheimer's and dementia. If you check out the website for N.CER who makes this device, you will see that they specialize in diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. There are similar brain health devices available out there but they will cost you $1000+. I think it's great that this simplified yet intricate device is available for under $300. I have been using it for a week now and my sleep has already improved greatly. I was a little skeptical at the direction to use this approximately 2 hours before bed. Listening to 40hz frequency is known to boost alertness and even energy for some. I occasionally listen to binaural 40hz audio in the morning before work for this purpose. Sure enough 2 hours went by and I was ready to go to sleep. I don't know if it's the combination of light and sound together. Whatever it is it definitely works for me.The setting on this device is for 30 minutes. If you read the manual thoroughly you will see the recommendation to start off with a much shorter time to gage your sensitivity. I'm not as familiar with using sound but I know from using red light therapy that there is a therapeutic threshold. Basically too little exposure will yield no change. The right amount will yield positive results but if you cross that threshold into too much exposure, it can cancel out the benefits and even cause negative effects. The fascinating thing is that these negative effects are temporary and will not occur within the therapeutic threshold whereas side effects from pharmaceuticals will occur regardless as long as you're taking them. This device comes with one setting for the 40hz gamma frequency but there is an app you can download that offers three additional frequency settings. I have downloaded the app and set my device up through Bluetooth so it's ready to go. While I'm excited to experiment with these other frequencies, I haven't yet because I want to keep going with the 40hz setting until I'm confident I've found my perfect therapeutic dose. I will most likely be trying the "mental relief" setting first which is the 7-9hz frequency and is known to be beneficial for meditation. This device has a solid build but it has a little give so it fits comfortably around the forehead. It has an adjustable velcro strap for the perfect fit. It comes with a magnetic USB charging cable and a very informative and thorough manual. I would definitely recommend this Brainspa device because the technology is so fascinating and it works. I love that companies like N.CER are researching and developing products like this because it is the future of therapy.

Undecided

I am still undecided on this product. There are times I feel like it helps me sleep and other times where I don?? notice much. I have only used it maybe 7-10 times so far though. The first time I used it I really felt like it helped me sleep that night. But then the next time I used it, not so much. I?? not sure why. It?? not the most comfortable device to wear for 30 minutes. But I get why they can?? put padding on the device since I think it needs to make contact with your head.Battery life seems pretty good. I do wish there was a battery indicator gauge.I??l try to update my review after I spend more time with this device.

Not Quite the Magic Bullet for Sleep and Stress Relief

I was hoping for more from this product - it's definitely better than not using anything at all, but it's not a game-changer for me. The adjustable bands are a plus, but the lack of a battery indicator and the loud volume levels were a bit of a drawback. Plus, it takes some trial and error to figure out what mode works best for you. Maybe it's worth it for some people, but for me, it's not exactly a must-have.

Wish it was just a little more comfortable

As someone with insomnia, anything that helps my sleep pattern is a win. This does seem to chill me out more, which has resulted in a bit more sleep than usual lately. It?? hard to say this is the exact cause, of course, but so far, so good. It is easy enough to set up and use, which is also helpful! The price ($270 at the time of this review) is a little steep though. If it is truly the cause of my increased sleep, then worth it! Haven?? been using long so I will update the review when I have used consistently around 6 months to confirm!

Game Changer for My Sleep and Focus

After struggling with insomnia for months, I decided to give this a try, and the results have been amazing. The 40Hz gamma wave stimulation helps me fall asleep faster, and I wake up feeling truly refreshed. I love that it's so simple to use??ust press a button and let it work its magic. The near-infrared and bone conduction features are really effective, and I also find it helpful during the day to boost concentration. It?? comfortable to wear, and the price is incredibly reasonable compared to other sleep devices out there. If you're looking for something to relieve stress and improve sleep quality, I highly recommend this headset!
